How to Apply Smart Ration Card Online in Tamilnadu

Important Note: Before you need to Apply Smart Ration Card, You must have Valid Proof of identity original as well as a softcopy and you must have Family Head Photo. Then only you can apply smart ration card on the TNPDS website.

Follow the below step by step procedure to Apply Smart Ration Card Online on TNPDS,

Step 1: First Directly visit the official website for Tamilnadu Public Distribution System (TNPDS). Click Here to Visit the official website

Step 2: Then Move onto the Smart Card Application Services Section on the Right side of the website. check the below image for better clarification

Step 3: Then click on the Apply New Smart Card Link.

Step 4: It will be redirected to the new page for Entering details for Apply New Smart Ration Card.

Step 5: First it will show two options for applying for a smart ration card if you like to apply for a new smart ration card choose the option as the first one.

Step 6: if you like to convert your old ration card to smart ration card you can choose the option as the second one as old card enrollment.

Step 8: Apply for New Smart Ration Card choose the first option as New Smart Card Application.

Step 9: Fill in all the required details shown on the form

Step 10: Name of Family Head, Fathers/ Husbands Name, Address, once you type in English it will automatically convert into Tamil at the right side section. before submitting the application you must cross-verify all the text converted in Tamil is correct or not. most of the time Tamil conversations take spelling mistakes, so be careful to verify the details.

Step 11: Enter District, Taluk, Village, Pincode, and Mobile Number. Choose the working condition mobile number, it will helpful login to check your smart ration card details online, Mobile number is very important to get the application number as well as login through tnpds website you must having that registered mobile to get OTP for login purposes.

Step 12: Upload Family Head image in the format of png, gif, jpeg, jpg. these image formats only allowed for family head image upload and image size must be below or within 5 MB size, More than 5 MB size on the image will not be accepted

Step 13: Then click on the Add Member to add the Details of family members (add the head of the family first), Add Member — Fill Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Relationship

Track the Smart Card Application Status on TNPDS :

After successfully apply smart ration card online application, follow the below procedure to check the current status of your new smart ration card applied for status online.

• Go to the Official Website Page of TamilNadu Public Distribution System (TNPDS) at tnpds.gov.in.
• Then click on the Smart card Application Status” under the Smart Card Application Services links section on the right side of the homepage.
• After clicking that, you have to enter your reference number received on your registered mobile number. By using that reference number you can check the status of your apply smart ration card online.
